People are surprised by Sitka’s mild weather. During the Sitka fishing season, we recommend you pack what you need in one carry-on bag. The reason we recommend this is simple; you can save money by checking your fish boxes as baggage!
Plan to dress as you would for most other outdoor activities. We recommend you bring clothes that can be layered so you can dress warmly at the beginning of the day but remove layers as the day warms. A polar fleece type of outerwear with a sweater and shirt underneath is very acceptable.
We will provide the wet weather gear, including boots, if needed.
